Trogir, Croatia, is a UNESCO World Heritage Romanesque town on the Dalmatian coast. It has a 2 km beach strip and an international airport within only a ten-minute radius of your Trogir villa. Truly convenient for guests on arrival.
Greek colonists founded Trogir in the 3rd century BC, and UNESCO inscribed it in 1997 for its complete medieval core.
Rent Luxury Villas Croatia lists 142 personally inspected villas in the Trogir Riviera - from the old town's edge across the bridge to Čiovo and along the coast through Seget, Vinišće, Sevid, and down to Rogoznica and Primošten.
Filter your search by amenities: a villa with a private pool, a hot tub/jacuzzi, or a beachfront villa. Or choose between modern accommodation and a stone house holiday villa in Trogir.
This guide, written by the RLVC team, covers where to stay along that coast, what everything costs in 2026, and advice on how to make the most of your holidays.
Trogir's center has historical stone houses
What Makes Trogir Different From Every Other Villa Base
The airport advantage is first. Split Airport (SPU) sits at Resnik, 5-6 km from the old town. Late arrivals, early departures, short breaks, and groups arriving on separate flights will benefit. Without a catamaran timetable, ferry queue, or second transfer.
A UNESCO town. UNESCO inscribed Trogir Old Town in 1997 as the best-preserved example of a medieval town, laid over a Hellenistic and Roman street plan on the Adriatic. The Cathedral of St Lawrence and Master Radovan's west portal of 1240 sit at its center, with the Kamerlengo fortress guarding the seaward end. Unlike Dubrovnik or Split, the whole ensemble fits on one small island you can cross in ten minutes.
The city of Qarth. Trogir's seafront and squares stood in for the city in Game of Thrones.
Čiovo island, connected to the old town by 2 bridges, carries the riviera's beach load - Okrug Gornji's pebble strip, nicknamed Copacabana. The quieter pine-backed coves toward Slatine. Family-friendly Medena west of town, and the wetland-backed Pantan beach just east.
Day trips. From a villa near Trogir, you can do Split's Diocletian quarter by boat, Krka National Park's waterfalls, Šibenik and Primošten by car, the Blue Lagoon at Krknjaši bay on Drvenik Veli, and Klis fortress or Salona's Roman ruins on the way to anywhere east.
With 142 properties, the Trogir Riviera is our second-largest collection in Croatia, which means a genuine spread: a villa with private pool starts under €2,000 per week in shoulder season, and the top of the range includes 16-guest seafront houses on Čiovo.
Where to Stay on the Trogir Riviera: Area by Area
This category covers a 40 km stretch of Adriatic coast, and the areas holiday very differently.

City of Trogir and Plano: Close to the historic town
Staying within walking distance of the town's center gives you a chance to have a morning coffee on the riva before the tour groups land. Or visit the cathedral and Radovan portal at opening time, shop for market goods with locals, and enjoy the town at night. Villas in Trogir proper and the Plano district inland offer close proximity to the beach and the shortest transfers on this coast.
For example, a 4-bedroom villa that sleeps 8 starts from €3,063 per week. You can also find a villa in Plano for 8 guests, from €2,597 per week, great for a family holiday.
This is the best cultural position in central Dalmatia, with authentic town life nearby. Beaches are only a 5-15 minute drive, or you can take a water taxi across to Čiovo.
Ciovo West: Okrug Gornji and Mastrinka, the Beach Engine
Cross the bridge, and you are on the island of Čiovo. Okrug Gornji is the riviera's resort quarter. The popular Copacabana pebble beach has bars, loungers and watersports schools. This is the liveliest area in July and August. The hillsides above it hold the densest concentration of spacious pool villas on this coast, most of them with breathtaking sea views. If you choose to stay in this part of the island, you can reach the beach on foot and enjoy the biggest choice of new-build comfort.
At the top of the range, we offer a property that sleeps 16 from €7,560 per week. Or, a beachfront villa with panoramic views that sleeps 10 from €2,709 per week.
Ciovo East: Slatine and the Coves
The road east after crossing the bridge leaves the resort and leads into pine and stone. Slatine faces Split across the water. Its rocky, pine-shaded coves offer clear water without the bridge-side crowds. A seasonal boat connects Slatine directly to Split, one of the most pleasant commutes in Dalmatia.
In our portfolio, we offer a recently renovated Mediterranean stone villa that sleeps 10 guests, starting at €11,200 per week. Or a contemporary villa for 6 guests starting at €3,640 per week.
Seget and Marina: The Sheltered West
Seget Donji begins where Trogir's waterfront ends. This is a fishing village that grew into a small resort around Medena beach - shallow, shaded, and built for families. Further west, Marina village sits deep inside one of the coast's best-protected bays. Blue Lagoon boat trips run directly from Trogir and Seget Donji, so booking a day tour is easy.
The water is calm, parking is easy to find, and it is a short run to town and the airport. If you are traveling as a group of 8, you can find accommodation starting at €3,150 per week (4 bedrooms) or €2,093 (3 bedrooms).
Vinišće and Sevid
Vinišće and Sevid are the names to know. They're the mainland's answer to island seclusion, with villas on large plots. In Vinišće, we have a luxury property for 8 guests starting at €4,914 per week. Or a 4-bedroom one in Sevid from €2,940 per week) captures the mix.
Expect silence, but you'll need a car for everything. The airport is still only 25-40 minutes away, and you'll get island-grade privacy with mainland-grade logistics.
Rogoznica and Primošten: The Postcard South
At the riviera's southern end, Rogoznica wraps a huge sheltered bay favored by sailors. Primošten's old town rises off its own islet ringed by beaches, with the famous Babić vineyards behind the coast. Both serve as quieter alternative bases, with Šibenik and Krka close by.
Portfolio examples include a villa for 10 guests, from €3,640 per week, and a villa in Primošten that sleeps 8, starting at €1,993 per week.
These are two of the prettiest settlements on the coast, a 35-50-minute drive from the airport. Best for guests who prioritize scenery and wine over Trogir town itself.

Trogir, Split or an Island?
We rent villas in all three, so here is our comparison.

If this is your first Croatia trip with children or a short stay, Trogir is the perfect choice. For city energy and nightlife getaway, choose Split. Second visit - honeymoon or brief seclusion: the islands. Some of our two-week guests split the vacation - one island week and a Trogir week at the end.
Things to Do From a Trogir Villa
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site during the quiet hours. The Cathedral of St Lawrence with Radovan's portal, the loggia, Čipiko palace, and the Kamerlengo fortress sit within a grid two ancient streets wide. Go before 09 AM or after 06 PM to avoid excursion groups. Game of Thrones fans can match the Riverlands and the Square to the Qarth scenes filmed here.
Swim and snorkel in the Blue Lagoon before the boat tours arrive. The Krknjaši lagoon on Drvenik Veli is the region's shallow turquoise showpiece. Trips run directly from Trogir and Seget. Book a morning departure or, better, a private boat. Ask your villa owner for a concierge service.
Take the boat to Split, not the car. The Bura Line runs Trogir to Split in about 30 minutes for €6-8. It docks near Diocletian's Palace and eliminates the need to search for parking.
Spend a beach day per coast. One on the Copacabana strip at Okrug for the full-service version, one at Medena with small children. Or find your own cove past Slatine or below Vinišće.
Drive to the waterfalls. Krka National Park is under an hour from Trogir via the motorway. Šibenik's two UNESCO sites and Primošten's vineyards fold into the same day.
Eat where the street narrows. The pattern locals use in Trogir: interior-street konobas over riva-front terraces, fish priced by the kilo, house wine from the Kaštela and Primošten slopes. Book peka a few hours ahead, as everywhere in Dalmatia, and use the morning market by the bus station for figs, cheese, and oil.
Explore narrow cobblestone streets

| Split city/port | Bura Line boat to Trogir Riva | Approx. 30 min | €6-8 |

Split Airport has direct seasonal service from most major EU airports. For Čiovo, Seget and Marina villas, add 10-20 minutes to the airport figures. For Vinišće, Sevid, Rogoznica and Primošten, add 25-50 minutes. Our concierge service arranges fixed-price transfers and hires cars for most properties, delivered to the villa. Tell us your flight times, and we will let you know whether you need a car at all.
Best Time To Visit Trogir
Trogir's shoulder seasons are stronger than the islands'. Temperatures in June are 23-29°C, and the swim season begins with 20-23°C sea temperature. July and August are peak season, the hottest and fullest months. September offers an amazing value - warm sea, grape harvest, and the crowds gone mid-month, with villa prices 40-50% below peak.
Local Tips From RLVC Team
Use the airport twice. The transfer is so short that Trogir works for trips the islands cannot. Four-night October breaks, wedding weekends, workation weeks between flights. A luxury villa rental on the Trogir side also fixes the classic island problem: spend the last night of an island holiday here, and the morning flight stops being a 05:30 catamaran gamble.
Cross the bridge on foot in the evening. Parking pressure near the old town peaks from 10 AM to 10 PM in summer. From Čiovo-side villas, walk or cycle over, eat in the interior streets, and take the lanes back when the stone is lit and quiet.
Book the Blue Lagoon from this side. Departures from Trogir and Seget reach Krknjaši faster than the Split fleets. Anchor, swim, and lunch before the main wave arrives around noon.
September is the trick month here too. The sea is 22-24°C, the old town is back to normal rhythm, Krka is uncrowded, villa rates are down a quarter or more, and flights are still direct. If your dates flex at all, take the second and third weeks of September.
Shop the market, cook the fish. Trogir's morning market and the fish market beside it are the best-supplied on this stretch of coast. Our concierge can also send a private chef (from €300-500 per day plus ingredients).
